Plant Walk Ideas

Teachers, parents and guardians:

Are you looking for creative opportunities to get your children away from screens and into nature?

In order to encourage his students to connect with their local environment, Teacher Jonathan Pinkhasik from PCS, created an assignment for his students to go out and explore nature while taking pictures and making sketches of local plants. We love this idea because not only does it encourage children to get outside and be active, they are also learning about Indigenous traditional ecological knowledge and how important certain plants are to local First Nations.

Great idea Jonathan!
