Fatty Legs Available Online with Teacher Guides and Resources!

Happy Monday Everyone!

We are very excited to share some great news with you today! In light of these trying times, many authors and illustrators have begun to graciously share their work online with the intention that teachers, parents and students are able to easily access quality reading materials during school closures.

Luckily one of these generous individuals is Canadian author, Christy Jordan-Fenton. In collaboartion with Elder, Margaret Olemaun Pokiak-Fenton, Christy wrote a novel inspired by Margaret's real life experiences at residential school called, Fatty Legs. Fenton recently gave permission for the whole book to be shared publicly with original illustrations as visuals. She has also included teachers guides, resources and recommended activities for each chapter.

The link below is the reading for Chapter One. Remember to scroll down into the details for additional information and the link for Chapter Two.

Additionally, please remember you can email the team at the Aboriginal Education Department with any questions at any time. We are here to support you and to continue to offer high quality resources and learning opportunities.

Thank you and stay safe!
