Math Specialist Carole Fullerton visits

Carole Fullerton, a math specialist who has been working with the district for a number of years came up for her second visit of the school year last week. Teachers from across the district and a few visiting from the Coast Mountain district had the opportunity to learn from her through demonstration lessons, workshops and discussions. 

On this visit she shared demonstration lessons at Lax Kxeen elementary introducing multiplication in a grade 3/4 class, and measurement in a K/1 class. At the middle school she gave a demo lesson on subtracting fractions using cuisinaire rods in a grade 8 class which was followed by discussion and a workshop for grade 6-9 teachers on teaching Algebra. At Conrad she presented a demo lesson on division in a grade 5 class.
