Redpatch

Read “Redpatch” as another valuable resource for National Indigenous History Month!

Between 1914-1918 over four thousand First Nations soldiers volunteered to fight and die for Canada in the First World War. REDPATCH is a new Canadian play about a young Metis solider from the Nuu-chah-nulth nation of Vancouver Island, who volunteers to fight for Canada in the First World War. Set in both Canada and the battlefields of France, REDPATCH follows the experiences of this young solider as he endures the horrors of war.  Follow our hero as he travels from his home on Vancouver Island all the way to the battlefields of France.

This book would be an appropriate resource for Grades 10-12, and includes an eight page color graphic novel.
