PCS students studied the implications of the Indian Act from the 1800s to present day with co-teachers Patty Stone and Lori Burger. They explored the book "Secret of the Dance" on day one, and visited the Museum of Northern BC to study the masks, regalia and Ts'msyen artifacts on day two. Students examined the potlach ban and confiscating of ceremonial regalia, and the eventual repatriation of some of the lost ceremonial artifacts. The students showed amazing engagement and deeper learning through reflections in a talking circle as well. A terrific couple of days with PCS!
