STEM at Wap Sigatgyet!
Staff of school district 52 attended a curriculum implementation day workshop at Wap Sigatgyet, focused on STEM and incorporting indigenous perspectives. We were fortunate enough to welcome Nicole Robinson and Archie Dundas to discuss the guardian program from Hartley Bay. Topics of discussion were the connections between orca families and the Ts'msyen clas system, microplastics, and whale identification. Participants were also introduced to resources from Great Bear Sea, and Math in a Cultural Context, which are available at wap.libib.com.
