Over the past couple of moths a number of classes throughout the district had the opportunity to pilot a few of the lessons from a new resource being developed locally focusing on making math relevant and connected to the place where we live. The resource includes lessons connecting locally developed literature as well as adaawx and looks at the intrinsic numeric patterns in woven cedar. Students ranged from grade 4 up through to secondary. Some of the lessons also involved learning how to weave.
