Each and every grade 8 student was recognized and welcomed by the barkers at the door of the Luulgit.
Sonny Henry was the MC.
The drummers, led by Marlene Clifton, featured students from both CHSS and PRMS.
Grade 8's and CHSS students mingled while everyone enjoyed delicious and nutritious soup.
As per Ts'msyen tradition, the honoured guests received special gifts made by CHSS students. Each grade 8 received a cedar rose or bracelet with a message of advice about school life attached to it. The CHSS students spent many hours with an Aboriginal Role Model creating the gifts for the grade 8's. The grade 8's were honoured to receive such thoughtful gifts.
Everyone, who took part of the Luulgit, agree that it was a great success. The Luulgit gave staff and students of all three schools a chance to connect and celebrate the future. The Luulgit honoured the Ts'msyen traditions, people and territory and allowed everyone involved to feel pride in the place they live and learn.
