Grade 2/3 students from Pineridge go on a plant hunt at Oliver Lake

We found k'wila̱'maxs (Labrador tea)!

Hunting Cards!

Dawes (salal) found along the boardwalk, but still much too early for tasty berries.

Checking out the muskeg. Lots of bila̱x (sphagnum moss) and sgniis (pine trees)!

Walking along the boardwalk.

P'iins (cow parsnip) just starting to pop out of the ground!

Stinky wüna̱x (skunk cabbage) popping up out of the mud,
the flower was broken off by hasty feet, or maybe even an animal.

More discoveries!

Time to go.
